Search. Up for auction is a sharp looking 1935 all american mohawk chieftain radio. This wooden radio comes with four tubes. This radio has a left side cut-out grille and a right sdie tuning dial. Thsi radio has two knobs and a turn-key dial all which are in working condition. A very unusual tuning dial in noe side being yellow the other side turquoise. When you plug in this radio it powers up btu it does not play. The case of this radio is in very good condition for its age having the normal scratches and wear marks. These seem to only add to the patina of this radio.
Thsi wooden beauty has no chips or cracks, but in the front veneer under the band knob(right), the tack is missing that helps with the veneer. This si hardly noticeable and does not damage or weaken the case of this radio. Please see photos. Also this radio needs a new power cord.
This is one gorgeous and unusual radio. This wooden charmer measures approximately 10 1/4 long, stands about 7 1/4 tall and is 5 1/4 wide not counting the knobs. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. |
