1946 Bendix Model 0526C Green Black Catalin RadioWe sell new and gently used name brand clothing, books, radios, furniture and anything else my husband drags home. Here is one for the refurbishers and collectors. It is a 1946 bendix tube radio model 0526c with a black and green catlin and bakelite cabinet. It is made by the bendix aviation corporation. The green catlin part has a great swirled pattern in it. As you can see in the pictures ti has a major crack across the top and a chunk of plastic missing in the top front. Other tahn that the rest of the cabinet looks pretty good. It does have the original matching catlin contorl knobs. tI is missing the cardboard back.On the bright side, i did plug in the radio and the tubes did start to glow and i was able to manually turn the tuner and it did pick up a couple of stations. So i will say that this is a working chassis. I had to turn the tuner manual because it seems like that the string that turns the tuner neesd to be replaced. I did not want to get any deeper into this radio, since i am not an expert and did not want to do any damage to it. I'm sure that when thsi radio is in the right hands and gets a good cleaning and lubrication it will be a great working radio again.
