Unusual 1930S Zenith Black Dial 5S228 Tube RadioFor your consideration a vintage 1930's zenith radio model 5-s-228. The radio is in original condition. It has its original fniish and is flaking in some places. The veneer on the right side in the back is loose but will glue down easily. This si the only loose veneer on the radio. There is no missing veneer. The grill and grill cloth are in godo condition with no damage. The dial and dial cover are also in good condition. All three knobs have a z no the front of them. The chassis looks to be complete with all the tubes.
The speaker looks to be original and undamaged. There is no wood damage to the case outside of the loose evneer on one side. The back of hte case is marked model 5-s-228 as is the back of the chassis. There is laso a metal tag on the back of the chassis and it is marked made in usa by zenith radio corp r333273 i could not test the radio to see if it works as the original cord is in pretty bad condition. The radio measures 15 1/2 in height by 10 in width by 10 in depth. An excellent addition to any radio collection or if you just want to own a neat old zenith radio. I am selling this item with no reserve.
