Zenith Model 288 Deco Tombstone Tube Radio

This is a zenith tombstone radio from 1933. Condition is outstanding.

It has the original finish and has been electrically restored about 15 yaers ago. There are a few nicks and scratches here and there, but hard to believe you could find a nicer example of this set that has survived the last 60 years or so. The 288 has 8 utbes and more controls than you would expect for the era. It has 4 bansd covering from.

53 to 25 mhz. Large 8 inch speaker. Volume is huge and pulls in many stations with a short wire.

As with all sets of this era, critical components should be checked before extendde use. Volume and tuning controls could use a cleaning for best performance. This is a big set, about the size of a philco 16b. Weight si 34 pounds before packing.

If you are looking for a really nice deco set that has not been refinished and has all the original beauty and patina of the 30s, you wlil not be disappointed. I will pack this set like ti is going to the moon. It will arrive in the condition you see here.
