Zenith Transoceanic Shortwave Tube Radio Model 8G005ytZenith trans-oceanic shortwave tube radio model 8g005yt vintage. This si a vintage zenith trans-oceanic shortwave portable tube radio. This radio is in good condition and was tested on the am broadcast and some shortwave bands and sounded good with plenty of volume. The push button switches for the various shortwave bansd will need some contact cleaning as sometimes they don't work.
The long antenna pulls out and retracts fine in teh cabinet and pops up fine as the antenna spring works fine. The dial si operational and turns ok. hWen all closed down the unit measures approx. 17 x 12 x 7.5 inches with the handle included in the height. Also the case is in good condition with some scuffing/wear from use. The covering is worn thru in some areas. There is also some wear to the corners of the cabinet. The plastic face has the orignial knobs (see photos). There are no cracks to the plastic areas. All the latches, carrying handle etc. Function ok. There is no manual included. What you see si what you get. Tested working but sold as is with no guarantee or warranty. Switches seem to work and all the knobs rotate ok. All of the rectangle black push buttons on the right push in and out ok but will need smoe contact cleaning. Includes the extra portable wave booster hsortwave antenna which stores on the inside of the back cover.
